TOEFL F.A.Q.

Seats can fill up quickly, so register early.

You can view available testing centers and testing dates from this page by selecting your city of location.

  • We recommend that you register 3 to 4 months before your desired test date to reserve your seat.

  • Your test date should be 2 to 3 months before your earliest admissions application or other deadline.

Therefore, if you application deadline is July, you should take the test around May/June and you should register around February/March for a test in July.

If you wait too long to register for the test, you may not be able to take the test at your desired location, or may not be able to take the test at all if registrations fill up quickly.

You may even have to travel to another city just to take the test, so register ahead of time.

Registration closes 7 full days prior to the test date.

A late fee of USD $40 is charged for registrations received after this deadline if testing space is available at your chosen testing center.

Late registration closes 2 days prior to your test date.

For students registering from Turkey, the testing fee is  USD $157.
